MURPHY’S MUSIC CENTER LESSON POLICY

Tuition Rate:  Tuition is $30 per 30-minute lesson for those who sign up for a month of weekly lessons ($120 for a four lesson month, $150 for five). If a student begins taking lessons in the middle of the month the lessons are prorated accordingly (Ex. two lessons = $60). PAYMENT IS DUE ON OR BEFORE THE 1ST OF THE MONTH FOR THAT MONTH’S SCHEDULED LESSONS.

Single Lesson Rate:  For students who cannot commit to a weekly lesson on our schedule, we offer single lessons at a rate of $35 per 30-minute lesson.  Payment is due before the lesson takes place. Please call in advance to check teacher availability.

Payment methods:  We recommend that all students use our auto-pay service, which requires credit/debit card details or checking account info.  This method helps to ensure that tuition is paid on time and in full.  There is a small fee for the use of the autopay system to cover processing fees.  Fees are 1% for bank drafts and 3% for credit or debit cards. If you are not able to use our auto-pay service, we accept card payments via phone and card, cash, or check payments in our store.

Holidays & Teacher Cancellations:  There is no charge for the holidays on which we are closed.  These include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve & Day, and New Year’s Eve & Day.  If a teacher cancels a lesson, you will not be charged and will potentially have an opportunity to reschedule the lesson at a different time depending on the teacher’s schedule.

Absences:  As space and time for lessons are limited, we require a 24-hour notice if you need to cancel your lesson. If you do not give the proper notice or are a no-show, this will be considered an unexcused absence, and no refunds or rescheduled lessons will be given.

If you do provide adequate notice of a cancellation, we will do our best to reschedule a new lesson within 4 weeks of your absence. If we are unable to find a suitable date within that time we will forward the value of the missed lesson toward next month’s tuition. If you happen to also be discontinuing your lessons a refund will be issued instead.

Discontinuing Lessons:  When a student wishes to discontinue lessons or take any length of time off, we must be notified at least 24 hours before the 1st of the month so that we may stop billing. We assume that all students plan on continuing lessons into the next month unless told otherwise.  Notification must be received by calling our store at 724-934-1090, emailing us at waddellsmusic@gmail.com, or informing us in person at our store.
